An Ode to the Snow

I can’t wait for the snow

To cover the ground,

To hear the wind blow

What a wonderful sound!

Cause I love the snow, so fluffy and white

I love how it glows both day and night,

I like to roll in snow and toss it in the air

I like how it glistens as it falls on my hair

(Okay fur, but it doesn’t rhyme with air. Artistic liberty, don'tcha know?)

I’m a Northern dog who likes the cold

I’m rugged, robust, brash and bold,

Hurry up snow, or I’ll have to chase a cat

Winter is my season, but I’m sure you knew that!;)

Canadian Thanksgiving

It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada today. What a glorious weekend we’ve had with summer weather! I loved my walk in the woods and hope I get another one today. Hint, hint! Oh yoohoooooooooooo! Arf, arf, roooooo! Can't be subtle with those humans. I have to make myself heard!

This weather is unreal for Canadians who are used to freezing their butts off most of the year. I like the cold weather myself but I know the humans prefer it warmer. Guess they don’t have as much fur as me to keep them warm.

My humans had their turkey dinner yesterday. As usual, we dogs didn’t get invited, but they were kind enough to give us a few leftovers. Slurp. YUM! Turkey hash, delicious!

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and give thanks for all the good things in our lives.

Here are ten things I’m thankful for:

1. First of all, I’m thankful for being so incredibly handsome and a chick magnet.

2. I’m thankful for being so incredibly handsome and a chick magnet. Oh, yeh, did that one already. Sorry!

3. I’m thankful for being so clever, funny and humble, too. *Grins and teeth ping in the sunlight*

4. I’m thankful for my four humans. They have their flaws but overall they’re a pretty good bunch and treat me well.

5. I’m thankful to live in Canada with so much fresh air and nice woods for me to romp in. I don’t like all the stupid cars on my street so I’m grateful to escape into the woods.

6. I’m thankful for old socks to chew on. The boys are good at giving me an endless supply. YUM!

7. I’m thankful for mud puddles to jump in. Wish there were more of them around.

8. I’m thankful that Canada has nice long winters with lots of snow for me to play in.

9. I’m thankful to have food in my bowl and love in my heart. Who could ask for anything more?

10. Finally, I’m thankful to have so many wonderful Facebook friends around the world. You guys are the best!

What are you thankful for?

A Walk in the Woods with Loup on October 8, 2011

A walk in the woods is one of my most favourite things there is along with jumping in mud puddles, chewing socks and roadside garbage.

Here I am with my trusty walker, Eric as we’re just about to enter the woods behind us. I’ve got my rubber bone to accompany me.

Here we are on the trail. LOVE IT! Hmmm, I sure have a cute butt, don't I? Eat your heart out, Tanner.

I love all the interesting sights, sounds and especially smells on my walk. Here Tanner, Tyna and I check out a really good smell. *Sniffffffff* AHHHHH! Rabbit and mice holes are my favourite and I especially like pee-marked bushes left from other dogs.

It’s fall here in Canada and the leaves are changing colour really fast. Cathy loves all the colours. I guess they’re okay but I go for the smells with a big nose like mine. Sniff, sniff, ahhhhh!

Already the ground is covered as you can see. Won’t be long til the big W. YAY! Can't wait for that!

Here is Tyna enjoying her walk.

I didn’t want to put this picture in but Cathy insisted. But why? It’s MY walk I’m writing about, not hers. Next she’ll want me to put in a picture of Tanner. NO WAY!

UGH! She made me put in a picture of Tanner. She said they should be included since they were on the walk, too. That Tanner is my nemesis. He's so jealous of me. I can’t help being so incredibly handsome and clever. It's not my fault. Sigh.

The day was so sunny and warm, it was almost too hot for October. *Pant, pant, pant*

Here I am resting up until the next time I get to go for a walk in the woods.

I’m panting cause I’m so hot. And you thought I was smiling, didn’t you? Well, I am smiling, too, cause I’m “Happy go lucky, live in the moment Loup” and am always in a good mood, except when dogs like Tanner try to pick a fight with me. He's just annoyed cause I'm the Alpha Dog and he thinks he is, too. There can only be one, Tanner, and I'm it. Get over it already!

Until next time, I send some nice slobbery and loving licks to all my friends.

Love Loup

Loup drops by to say hi!

Hi everyone! Hope you're enjoying the arrival of fall. I love it. The cooler weather suits me just fine and it's that much closer to W.. Well, you know what I mean. Cathy doesn't allow me to use the W word. She says it will come soon enough and then it's here forever.

Woohoo! My pal Rumpy interviewed me this week and a good job he did with it, too. He's a natural journalist. Look at all the interviews he's done lately. He puts me to shame.

Feel free to read all about me right here.

http://rumpydog.wordpress.com/2011/09/10/friends-around-the-world-the-canadian-club/

I like rereading it myself but then I am rather narcissistic at times, Cathy says. Don't know what that means exactly but it is a cool word, don'tcha think? Nar SIH SIS TIC. I like it.

That Rumpy puts me to shame with all his blogging and networking. What a great dog he is! I'm so lucky to have him as a pal. He's the best! Glad to see his blog is taking off and he's getting the acknowledgement he deserves. And to think I knew him when. Sigh.

Until Next Time, don't do anything I wouldn't do...in other words, the sky's the limit. GO FOR IT! Love Loup

Interview with Rumpy T. Drummond

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I wrote on my blog but Cathy was away on vacation in Cape Breton and PEI. She took her laptop with her so what could I do? Wish I had my own laptop but them's the breaks! It was hard and I suffered terrible withdrawal but luckily I had some socks to chew on for comfort.

Today I have a real treat for you. I interviewed my bud, fellow Malamute, Rumpy T. Drummond who lives down in Tennessee. I wonder if he has one of those cool Southern accents when he goes woo, wooooo!

I just know you'll love getting to know Rumpy better and another way to get to know him is by following him on Facebook, Twitter and on his blog, http://rumpydog.wordpress.com/2011/09/04/a-day-of-rest-for-hard-working-dogs/#comments Enjoy!

1. So what’s it like being so popular on Facebook and Twitter, Rumpy? I have lots of female admirers and I’m sure you do, too. How do you handle all the fame and stay so down to earth about it all?

Oh Dog, it feels so good to be SOOOO well-loved! To think that I went from homeless to known around the world is nothing short of AMAZING! I guess sometimes I do let the popularity go to my head, but usually I'm too busy to think about it. Blogging and social networking is hard work and it takes alot of time out of my day!

2. Rumour has it that you like cookies. What is your favourite kind of cookie?

Did you say cookies???? *drool* I LOVE cookies! The highlight of my day is that every evening Jen gives us each a cookie after we go outside for a final perimeter check. If she's late in letting us out, I am quick to remind her of the time.

We have to eat special cookies because DeDe is on a restricted diet, so most of the cookies I eat these days are made with some kinda fish. Mmmmmm..... they are mighty good!

3. What is your favourite movie? If you could pick a movie to star in, what would it be?

Hmmmm..... that's a hard one. I don't watch many movies. My obvious favorite is Snow Dogs. I really think they should have waited a few years so we'd be around to star in that one. Nothing against that Demon dog mind you.

If I could star in a movie I think I'd want to be a detective- like Poirot or Sam Spade. All the ladies would love me and all the bad guys would fear me. Or maybe a musical. I am a talented crooner ya know.

4. So I hear that DeDe has her own advice column? How does that make you feel? Do you like helping her with it? Is all the fame going to her head?

DeDe is a goofball, but she's a good kid. I have to help her with that advice column, but I gotta admit she's getting better. I don't worry about her near as much as I do the kitties..... ever since I started this blog they've been plotting to take it over.

5. Is it true that you like Barney, the purple dinosaur? *shudders* *GAG* Why, Rumpy? Please tell us why. I need to understand.

Oh Loup! I LOVE Barney! I have this fantasy of singing and dancing and running through the park with him. I don't understand why nobody likes him anymore. Of course i can understand a dog not liking a purple dinosaur, but I do get upset with human adults who dis Barney and other icons that children worship. I think it's mean and sets a bad example to the children because it sends the message that things the child values are not important.

6. Why do you like cats? Doesn’t it go against your natural instincts? (I know I have trouble with that predator/prey instinct and don’t get invited out to parties much.)

You're right- most Malamutes don't get along with cats. But when I came to stay with Jen there were cats in the house and I stayed outside. But I wanted to be inside with everybody else, so she told me I could as long as I respected everyone else. It's been hard but I have done well I think. I learned how to not pee inside and live with cats. Now I feel like I can do anything!

Now I'm not gonna lie- if I was outside and a cat was in my yard, I'd treat him just like any other prey.

7. Describe a typical day in your life.

Well, you know that I USED to get to go to doggie daycare, but now that Jen has taken yet ANOTHER pay cut she says she can't afford to send me anymore. That's why I started blogging ya know, so hopefully I could eventually I could make some money to go back to daycare.

So anyway, we start the day by the cats waking Jen up as early as possible by acting like they're starving to death. They run and jump and meow and act all dramatical- it's quite a spectacle! Then after Jen finds her glasses me and DeDe go outside for an initial perimeter check. After breakfast and Jen getting dressed we each take a walk. Then it's guard duty while Jen works.

In the evenings we spend some time in the yard hanging out, playing, fussing at neighbors and squirrels. Then we get that final treat.... COOKIES!!! Of course I am working on my blog throughout the day, so there's always something to do.

8. What is your favourite season? Does it start with W? (Say yes!) Why do you like it so much?

Oh Loup, this has been a VERY rough summer on me. The heat, the humidity, and of course losing Sage was hard as well. I can't wait until winter is here again! I want to run and play and chase Jen all over the yard!

9. If you could travel anywhere you wanted, where would you go?

I would go to the North Pole to visit Santa. Then I would apply for a job so I could live there year-round. I LOVE Santa, and it's always been my dream to be a part of his team..... even though I'm not a reindeer. I could LEARN to fly!!!

10. If you could help the world in some way, what would you do?

I think I help just by being who and what I am. Let's face it- in these days and times humams are hurting. They are angry, but most of that anger masks hurt. And it's not just in the US that happens. It's happening all over the world. So while a human would NEVER let their hair down and play with another human, they can feel free to play and sing and say whatever they want to me! And in return they get some time when life is good and happy again.

Heaven help us as Tyna speaks out

I just read on Rumpy's blog that DeDe got a chance to speak and she even has a help column. What is the world coming to?

A help column? Good grief! Now you've done it, Rumpy! She'll think she's the next Doggie Ann Landers at this rate. Now you're in trouble!

Tyna is really upset to hear that DeDe got to blog on Rumpy's blog and she is having a fit as I write. Always something. *Rolls eyes*

She is bellowing and insisting that her voice be heard. Oh, Tyna. Go away! I'm trying to concentrate on my blogging. Go brood somewhere else already. Go tell Tanner your troubles.

Now Tyna. You look upset or is that just your regular expression? Hard to tell sometimes with those droopy jowls. You know I was only kidding. My, you're looking lovely today. *Sniff, sniff* Is that rotten fish you rolled in? Smells divine. I like your makeup job though you do go a little heavy on the black eyeliner and you didn't need to outline your lips with it, too. Are you trying to look like a Goth or something? You do need a new hairdresser though. Your fur is a mess. I know it's tempting to roll in smelly stuff but it doesn't do much for your fur, Dear.

Now, calm down, Tyna. There's a good girl. *Pats Tyna's furry head* Want me to get some valium for you? Now just relax, my dear. You're getting much too agitated and ups

TYNA BUTTING IN HERE and believe me with my big head and shoulders, I'm good at butting in:

"Yes, it's me, the gorgeous and very intelligent Tyna, the St. Bernard who lives with those huskies (who rely on instinct more than brains), Tanner and Alex, and that incorrigible scalliwag, Malamute, Loup.

I've had it with Loup ignoring me and flirting with the ladies on Facebook. I put up with his fling with Winnie but don't think that it didn't sting a little or maybe that's the poison ivy I rolled in. Hard to tell.

Does he think it doesn't hurt to have him treat me this way? And I'm so good to him, too. I always visit him first thing in the morning and we have our little ritual where I let him chase me and let him have a good sniff.

And I let him use his pool and don't object when he won't let me use it, too. I know he has his selfish ways. I've put up with them for years.

I had my sights set on him when we first met but no longer. He was so rugged, mysterious, and handsome when he first arrived on our doorstep. What girl doggie wouldn't be swept away by him? I know Cathy was smitten and she's a human. She wants to write a paranormal shapeshifter story and have Loup be the Alpha dog or is it the Alpha male, I forget. Oh, Cathy, give me a break. *GAGS and big clump of slimy grass pops out*

But now I feel that Loup is just not worth it. I'm going to move on. I've started a self improvement course of diet and exercise and I feel great.

I go out to lunch with my girlfriends and they actually listen to me which is more than I can say for Loup who treats me like a bimbo.

Loup says I'm too high maintenance. I AM NOT high maintenance. Okay, so I whine and bellow a bit too much at the mere hint of a thunderstorm or when the wind comes up or when he goes out for a night with the boys. Excuse me for living! Hmph! I just need some attention now and then. Is that too much to ask? I really don't ask for much. I could be like that prissy Winnie who has her owner Wendy at her beck and call. I'm not like that. CATHHEEEEEE! Where are you? The wind just came up. BARK! BARK!

I might be a little on the neurotic side but like Loup's predator/prey instinct, my neuroticism is part of my charm along with my doggy smell. I can't help it.

There, I got that off my chest. Ahhhhhh, feels much better to be out with it. So freeing and liberating.

Here, Loup you can have the blog back. I'm done."

Loup here. *Scans the blog* So I go out with the guys? What's wrong with that? I am NOT selfish. So Tyna, you're all better now, eh? That's great. Glad to hear it. So could you rustle me up some dinner? I'm starved and I'm going bowling later with some of the guys. Oh, you know who they are. They're nice guys. You know. There's Rumpy, Archie, Chance, Dylan, Oscar, Elliott, Dugan and Hunter. All nice guys, each one.

Now could you get right on that, Toots? There's a good girl now.

Now, Tyna. Don't look that way. It's most unattractive. I didn't mean it. OUCH! Stop hitting me with that bone. I didn't mean it. OUCH!

Okay, readers. I'm outta here. This is too much to take. Off I go for a few beers and some rolling in gross stuff with the boys before bowling.

Until next time, be good the way I always am! *Fake halo springs out over top of devil horns*

*Makes note to always work on blog when Tyna is napping*

You can't rain on my parade!

Since it's pouring rain out there, I thought I'd post some different Youtube videos of songs about rain. I just love rain, almost as much as snow. Only a few more months. Ahhh, can't wait!

I dedicate "Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain" to Winnie. All you doggies out there, listen up. Listen carefully to the lyrics about broken hearts.

That Winnie. Sigh. Sniff. She knows all about breaking hearts, that doggie does.

Darn, got some rain in my eye. *Wipes eye* Ehem...where was I?

Here's something a little more cheerful to lighten the mood. *Grabs soggy Kleenex* HONK! Winnie, why did you do this to me? Sniff.

*Listens to Burt Bacharach music* Ahh, that's better. I can dig it. I'm feeling more cheerful already.

OOH, Cool scenery in this one. Wish I was there by that stormy ocean. I'd love that. So wild and unpredictable. Sorta like me that way.

So how does a rainy day make you feel? Does it make you happy or sad or just plain annoyed?

I'm all cheerful again. Even Winnie can't keep me down for too long. She broke my heart, it's true, but it's been a while now. I'm livin' the single life and lovin' it playin' out in the field.

Hear that Tyna and Winnie. I'm lovin it! No attachments for this doggie, except for my leash.

You won't rain on my parade!

Seven Wonders of Our World

Cathy asked me to guest post and write about "Seven wonders of the world" for her Writer's Post blogging group this week.

She said she could have done it herself, but thought I might give it a certain edginess and dramatic flair.

It is true that I'm the better writer, but don't tell her that. Don't want to burst the poor girl's bubble. I'm even more popular than her on Facebook. The ladies just love me. What can I say? It's a gift.

Here are our Seven Wonders of the World:

Here's Tanner who is trouble with a capitol "T"
He tries so hard to pick a fight with me,

Then there's poor old Alex who's blind and lame
At least his keen appetite is still the same,

Then there's Rosie, such a cheeky tabby
So haughty and smug, and a little bit crabby,

Then there's Tyna who is smitten with me
How much more lovesick can this dog be?

Then there's Maggie, both skittery and lazy
So weird in behaviour, she drives Brian crazy,

Then there's Daisy, the youngest cat
Cute and playful, and a bit of a brat,

And finally there's me, the famous Loup
I'm the most wondrous, yes, it's true!

They should erect a Loup statue under a tree
All the tourists would come and take pictures of me,
They would whisper my name with both awe and fear
And say that the wondrous Loup Graham lived here.

Friendship Day

My good pal, Rumpy, wrote about Friendship Day in his blog http://rumpydog.wordpress.com/2011/08/07/tails-of-friendship/ so I decided to do the same. Rumpy is one of my best FB pals. He's the greatest but then he's a Malamute. Was there ever any doubt? Even if he does like Barney the Dinosaur, I still think Rumpy is the best!

I think I like my FB friends best of all 'cause I don’t really have a lot of real life friends.

Oh, of course there’s Tyna but she’s so lovesick that it gets a little nauseating sometimes.

Tanner hates me so forget trying to be friends with him. Believe me, I have tried but he’s jealous of me being the Alpha Dog. What can I say? It’s a burden being so incredibly handsome and virile but I do my best to persevere.

Then there’s poor Al boy but he’s so aged that I can’t really play with him very much. He sleeps most of the time anyhow.

There are the three cats but I’ve got that predator/prey instinct pretty bad so friendship isn’t a good idea. Rosie would be mighty tasty to nibble on though as she is so plump and juicy. *Drools* Tanner almost got her yesterday when he broke off his rope. You should have seen it! *whistles* It was so cool! YEH! *Waves paw in the air* There goes another life, Rosie. How many have you got left now? Not too many, I imagine.

Of course I like my human family who took me in when I was a vagabond wandering the dusty roads alone. They’re the best friends around. They feed me, walk me, play with me, and take care of me. I owe them a lot.

Cathy read somewhere that Malamutes aren’t very loyal and like whoever is feeding them and being nice to them. That’s not true! By the way, got any toys or treats for me? If you do, I’ll be right over.

I am so grateful for my Facebook buds who enrich my life so much. You make me laugh. You make me cry. You teach me a lot since I don't get out much so thanks!

It's great to know you. Thanks, guys! You’re all the best!

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Here's my simple little message today delivered by Bobby McFerrin. Love this song.

*Wiggles furry hips and dances around the yard doing cartwheels and hip hop* YEH! Everybody dance now!

This song is directed at you, Tanner. Stop barking and making such a fuss already. Tyna, stop your brooding!

As Bobby says, "In this life, we got some trouble, but if you worry, you make it double." How very true!

And here's a good quote by Barbara de Angelis about happiness to keep in mind.

"No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change."

I'm always happy, well, except when Tanner or those mean German shepherds are trying to pick a fight with me. Then my survival instinct kicks in and I become "Kick Ass Loup".

What can I say? My name is "Loup" (Wolf) after all.

Love "Happy Go Lucky" Loup, living in the moment and loving it!

Hope you're doing that, too!

Ode to a Blue Jay

You really like to squawk and squeak

You screech and shriek, and peep,

Mr. Blue Feathers with the pointy beak

Some of us are trying to sleep!

I know you’re only after my food

You’re always in my dish,

Don’t you think it’s kinda rude?

I guess scavenger is your niche,

You are related to a crow after all

I read it on a site,

You and your screechy, grating call

Always starting a fight,

I read that your wings aren’t really blue

And that it’s really just a trick of light,

I’m never too old to learn something new

Now if I’d only learn to be polite!

But the weirdest thing I read

Was all about a thing called “anting”,

Yes, you heard me, that’s what I said!

I’m not just howling and panting,

You rub ants under your wings

That sure is a weird thing to do,

I always learn so many things

Living in my backyard zoo.

Littlest Hobo

Here is the theme music from a Canadian show that used to be on in the 1960s about a drifter German shepherd who helped people. They also had a 1980s version but Cathy liked the old one better. It was back in the days when the world was black and white. Must have been strange.

I've posted the theme music here and it's in Japanese, too which is kinda cool. Guess the show was shown all around the world. Wish I had a TV show that was shown around the world. Ahh, a dog can dream.

I'm too young to remember this show since it was practically the dark ages but then Cathy is getting on in years. Cathy used to love this show even though she found it sad that Hobo never had a home. He would help people through their crisis and then keep moving on.

I don't like the fact that there's a German Shepherd named London in the starring role but I'm not that fond of German Shepherds since there are two mean ones down the road from me who jump on me just for passing by their house. I know they're jealous of me but do they have to attack me all the time? Geesh! One of these days I'm going to wipe the floor with the both of them. GRRR!

I can identify with Hobo since I was a drifter before I came to live with Cathy and the gang. I was abandoned on an old dusty farm road where I wandered around for a while til Brian took me in.

I'm just like Hobo because I like to help poor lost souls, too, cause I am so incredibly altruistic. Correction. I'm basically a selfish sod who is out for Number 1 most of the time, but I do bring joy into others' lives just by being me, don't I? That counts for something, doesn't it?

I can truthfully say that I have transformed Cathy's life and enriched it greatly. Poor girl doesn't get out much and I do my bit to make her happy and give her life purpose.

I'm happy to stay put now. Still, the wanderer part of me does daydream about life out on the road.

Nothing holding me down.

No leash.

No Tyna ogling me all the time.

No Tanner wanting to pick a fight every minute.

No shackles of any kind.

Ahhhhhhhh, a dog can dream.

Until Next Time. Have a good one all!

Love Wanderlusting Loup

Sweet Summertime!

I know I complain about the heat since I'm a snow doggie but there are some things about summer that are terrific.

Take songs about summer, for instance. Who can resist them?

Summer is such a fun season and only lasts such a short time, especially in Canada where I live. It's the time to have fun outdoors, go to festivals, fall in love, take it easy and relax with a book and your favourite drink. We must embrace it.

When I listen to these summer songs, I forget all about the heat and fall in love with summer just like the composers who were inspired by our short, sweet season.

Enjoy our summer, everyone! Winter will be here soon enough. (Hooray!!! OOPS! Sorry! I'm trying to curb my winter enthusiasm. No one else seems to share my winter passion, except for my pal, Rumpy)

Here are three of my favourite summer tunes. Hope you enjoy them, too.

These are some of my favourite summer songs. What are yours?

Ten reasons why having a dog makes you rich

Happy Monday, Everyone!

Loup here again.

Some of my Caring Cairn owner Facebook friends had this on their status today. It inspired me to write this blog post.

No matter how little money and how few possesions you own, having a dog makes you rich." - Louis Sabin

Ten reasons why having a dog makes you rich.

  1. You have to walk us which forces you to get out and exercise. We’re good for your physical and mental health.

  2. You become less selfish when you think of your dog’s needs as well as your own.

  3. Dogs give unconditional love. Cats, well, not so much.

  4. We’re always happy to see you no matter what. Unlike cats!

  5. We stroke your ego and make you feel like a king/queen. (Especially if you’ve got treats!)

  6. We make it easier for you to break the ice with humans. Geesh, you guys are uptight when it comes to talking to strangers. We pave the way for you and make it easier.

  7. We appreciate the small things in life like a good sock to chew on and we make you appreciate them, too.

  8. We live in the moment instead of regretting the past or worrying about the future.

  9. Our lives our shorter than yours. We remind you that life is short and to make the best of the time you have.

  10. We are content with very little and grateful for so much.

Sunday Mornings

Morning All! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

My Southern Malamute pal, Rumpy, just blogged about Sunday morning http://rumpydog.wordpress.com/2011/07/24/peaceful-sunday-morning/ so I'm going to do the same from my Canadian perspective.

It's finally cooler here and the humidity has gone down. Phew! I can breathe again. It has been a real scorcher this past week. Too hot for this snow doggie. I want winter! I want winter! Yeh! Cathy says I shouldn't write this or I might get hate mail. I don't care! I love conflict and controversy. YEH! Bring it on!

I love this time of day before the neighbours get up and start being noisy. It's so peaceful and serene. Love it! And you didn't think I was a sensitive doggie, did you? I do have my moments of tranquility before I cut loose. Keep them guessing, I always say. Gotta keep them on their toes around here as they are a fairly complacent bunch.

The wind rustles the leaves above us and the air is so fresh and cool. Those blue jays and crows are still being a nuisance but what else is new? Too bad they don't migrate. We're stuck with them year around. Bummer!

Tanner is a being a big pain as he's got a gigantic branch caught in his rope. Geesh, that guy will do anything for attention. Doesn't he know that I'm the Alpha Dog and that's that? Give up, already.

Tyna is flirting with me as usual. *rolls eyes* It's hard being such a chick magnet but hey, when you got it, flaunt it, I always say.

Brian let Alex off his leash to have a little jaunt and he's taken off. Heheh. For a 16-year-old lame, blind dog, he can really move. Hope I'm that spry when I'm 16. Go, Alex!

Rosie just puked her breakfast out on the table where Cathy is sitting. Disgusting cat. I never do things like that. ;)

Ah, Sunday mornings! Nothing like them. Happy Sunday, everyone!

I LOVE SNOW

Loup’s Winter Song “I Love Snow!”

(sung to the tune of Jingle Bells)

We’re off to take a walk

I’m such a happy dog,

Carrying my crusty sock

And sniffing every log.

Charging through the snow

With a poor bewildered boy,

I yank him to and fro

Just like he was a toy.

A rabbit has gone by

I smell his furry scent,

I heave a heavy sigh

And wonder where he went.

Snowbanks are such fun

I take a flying leap,

To jump in every one

So soft and oh so deep.

CHORUS

Oh, I love snow

I love snow

Snow is really great

Why can’t winter last all year?

Why do I have to wait?

My favourite things

Garbage and road kill are awfully yummy
Rumbling and tumbling around in my tummy,
Soon I will go for a walk on the road
Where I will have the most stinky unload

Jumping in puddles is such a delight
And nothing's better than having a fight,
Those German Shepherds deserve what they get
I'll wipe the ground with the both of them yet!

Old socks are scrumptious, their texture so chewy
When I have old socks, I'm one happy Loupie,
Give me some leftovers, then I'll be set
I'll be one happy Malamute, that you can bet!

When the deer fly tries to bite me
When he makes me mad,
I simply remember my favourite things
and then I don't feel so bad!

Ode to an Old Sock

Old socks are so scrumptious, all crusty and worn

I especially like the holey ones, even better if they’re torn,

They have a special texture that makes chewing a delight

I could chew on an old sock both day and night,

The boys wear out socks without having to try

I’m practically guaranteed an endless supply,

I just love socks to pieces, they give me such glee,

If you’ve got any old socks to spare, just send them to me!

Hey, gang! I'm back to bug you with my blog! Mwhahaha!

Hi all!

I haven't blogged on my blog in ages. Cathy lets me do occasional posts on her blog www.catmuses.wordpress.com but that's not the same as having your own blog.

My friend Rumpy just started his blog http://rumpydog.wordpress.com/ . Check it out, why don't you? He's my Southern Malamute pal. He likes cats and Barney the dinosaur but he's still a cool doggie in my opinion. Besides, no one is perfect, though I do come pretty darn close.

Rumpy has inspired me to fire up my blog again. Enough of my lollygagging about. Well, I'll still lollygaggle (I just love that word, don't you?) but I will chat with you while I do it. Can't let Cathy have all the fun being verbose and boring everyone. Heheh! Of course I'm the better writer but don't tell her that as she is an overly sensitive gal and takes these things very personally.

Hope you're all enjoying your summer or winter wherever you may be. I'm having a good summer but much prefer winter as you who know me from Facebook have heard many times.

My fur is looking pretty ratty these days like a couch cushion losing its stuffing as someone described it so well. I won't let Brian brush me and I don't like him pulling out tufts of fur either. Hands off! Geesh!

I'm a snow doggie and that's that. This summer heat weighs on me but Cathy says not to complain. As her daddy says, "It's a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng winter." Ah, yes, and I love it so!

Until next time, loving licks and furry hugs to all my pals!

Love Loup
